Just some miscellaneous suggestions for your consideration. I am a registered users, and various pieces of the functionality is in other Google Task managers. I prefer geeTasks though :-)

In addition / rather than changing font size by squishing finger motion, use a thin (not bold) font, and fully scroll the entire text of the task subject. For people that use the GTD methodology, you have lots of long titles. Squishing doesn't help

Add a button that "purges" completed tasks - i.e., deletes them locally and on the server

Thanks!

No one can claim to have a messier desk than me. This is why I am trying to use your fine app for task organization on my Ipad/android. (Being able to access the tasks for instance when I have a bright idea while watching t v gives me a fighting chance of keeping the list up to date and active and useful.) I have case names and then I am having indented tasks under them. Is there a way to a-z other than by hand, the unindented headings/tasks?

thank you,

If this feature is already available, I haven't found it… It would be nice to be able to uncheck all items in a list. For example, I have a packing list that I use every time I travel. It would be nice to be able to "reset" the task list by unchecking all items in the list so it's ready to use the next time I need to pack. Thanks!

I'm not sure if this is the expected behavior, and it's really not a big deal, but something tells me it's not quite how it was intended:

1. Open the details of a task

2. Tap "Belongs to List" and a new window comes up with the title of the task as the window title and I choose the list that I want to move the task to

3. A new window comes up with the name of the task as the title for the window, but this time it's the task list that is the content - that's the first strange part - I would have expected the name of the list to be the title - no biggie. Also, the back button is labelled with the title of the LIST that it happens to be displaying.

4. Tapping that back button does not change the list on screen, but just changes the title of the screen to the actual list title, and also changes the label in the back button to now read "Lists".

I noticed this a few times and just assumed I perhaps didn't actually tap the back button. Today, I moved about 6 tasks though, and noticed what was going on, only because I had to tap the back button about 6 times to actually get back to the "Lists" screen. Each time I tapped back, I had the same list as the window content, but the title would change to each of the task names that I had just moved. Everything moved OK, so it's really not a big problem, but I thought perhaps others could confirm this behavior.

Checking through forums I read about the swipe left option, so I'm going to give that a try and perhaps not look back :)

First off, let me say that I love your app, and have no regrets with my purchase. However, I have been running the developer Beta for iOS 5, and was wondering if there were any plans in the works to integrate the app into the new Notification Center? I think that would make the app perfect. I love being able to go there to see what's comming up on my calendar, and a list of my tasks (say whatever subset of tasks I have chosen for the App to display on the icon badge) would be great. Geetasks is far easier to use than the new iOS reminders feature, and works better for what I want, and Notification Center integration would seal the deal. The only problem I could see would be the need for the app to actively refresh itself in order for the Notification Center to be accurate.

Hi,

I have a number of "template" tasks lists that I use to copy to make instances that I really use. Typically, check-list of things to take with me for a trip, or to check before flying an aircraft, …

I am desperately seeking a way of doing "copy/duplicate list", either in the Google native environment, or with a dedicated app (as Geetasks which I use).
(the simplest way I found to do this is use "email task" in the Google environment, then copy/paste the text to instert it in a newly created list, but it's painful and doesn't' preserve tasks indentations …)

If such a function could be added to Geetasks, I would be very grateful (and likely more people would be so, as this was required in some Google poll that I don't find any more).

Best regards,
Fred.

Hi there.

Google released the new tasks API and promised to break the old API by the end of the month. This release of GeeTasks uses the new, official API.

Installation instructions:
Take this IPA file, drop it into iTunes, and sync iTunes with your iDevice. Problems? Send me an email with the UDID of the device you were installing onto.
Now accepting more Beta users! Please send email with your device ID (UDID).

What's new:
Google promised to pull the plug on the old API on Aug 31st, so GeeTasks neews to be updated to use the new API.
All-in-all, the new API is a step back in functionality - it does not support "related mail", it does not allow checking for changes quickly (checking all lists individually is now required, which makes the app somewhat slower), and it does not allow moving tasks from one list to the next. To rectify the latter problem I made GeeTasks delete the task in the old list and create an identical copy in the new list when syncing, which works ok, except that you lose the creation date and the "related mail" link.
On the bright side, the new API is officially supported, so there are fewer quirks in it, and I will spend less time debugging the problems in the unofficial API.

UPDATE 1:

Fix crash when a request is cancelled.

UPDATE 2:

Beta 42-4.

UPDATE 3:

Beta 42-6.

UPDATE 4:

Beta 44-2.
My husband and I both have, love, and use geetasks. It is simple, easy to use and exactly what we need.

However, my husband just complained to me that when ever he wants to sync his lists (he does it manually to save battery life), his screen says it is syncing and will freeze for several minutes. I thought he was exaggerating, but he is not. Even just entering the app, it takes about 30 seconds before he can do anything.

I am not sure what the problem is. He does not ever purge his lists because he wants records of what he has already done and keeps many, many lists. (He manages a group of doctors) I suggested to him that maybe having so much information could be the problem. He also has an iPhone 3GS (not a 4 like I do) so perhaps it is slower??

Either way, I was trying to help him figure out the problem. I did just run the latest updates to his iPhone, but it didn't help. Any suggestions?

(FYI: My husband is not techy at all, so I figure things out and then "help" him with our devices. I'm not that techy either, but much more so than him and I enjoy figuring stuff out—in case you wondered why I was the one asking the questions about HIS phone.)

Thanks!

One can reorder tasks in geetasks. This is useful to use a list as a stack. However, if one works a bit on a task and then wants to defer it, there's no way to push it easily to the bottom of a list. To manually reorder the list just for this is tedious. It would be great if there was a button to push the top item in a list to the bottom.
Thanks.
Fil Salustri

Within the last several weeks I've received messages to the effect that the provisioning profile was going to expire —I didn't get around to doing anything about them. Now it has expired and I'm seeing that the result is that I can no longer open Gee Tasks Pro. I think I received the provisioning profile as a result of the beta test arrangement. What is the remedy for this?
Thanks.

GeeTasks is the most-used app on my iPhone after email and Safari. The flawless syncing, drag-and-drop ordering and quick deletes are just priceless. The only request I have is the option to not capitalize the first letter when I add a new task. When I'm adding a task I like to go as fast as possible and my OCD requires that all tasks be completely lowercase. On the Google Tasks site I can just start typing but in the app I have to remember to uncapitalize first. An insignificant request, I know, but the app is so close to perfect that this is all I can think about. Keep up the great work!

Hello,

I've seen the threads, and the many requests to support multiple accounts. I understand this is already on the road map, but I needed something simpler…

Given that Google Tasks does not have an export/import mechanism, and since I have many tasks (100+) that I need to move between two different Google Apps accounts of mine (separate setups, not only different accounts), I was wondering if GeeTasksPro could help me out. I suppose the functionality is _almost_ there, it would be terrific if the iPhone app could just "hold" the tasks locally, then allow me to specify a different account, and then re-sync!

Is there something like that? Or do I really need to copy task by task manually? BTW, I just *love* this app, I keep installing it for all my customers…

Thanks in advance,
Rubens

One to go back to the list page and a second to go to the list. Would it be possible to put a button at the bottom of the tasks page that when you pressed it, it would take you to the next list? Even better yet, skipping empty lists?

Really need to consider implementing alarms. GoTasks has this feature for free. I read another thread where you thought this was not a good idea but I find it extremely useful. It makes the task list a reminder list also. "Due time" is really an "alarm time" so you get a pop-up before the item is actually due so scheduling it into a calendar as you suggested is not really essential. The alarm time would not sync with google as you rightly pointed out but since most people have their phone with them all the time that is not really a problem as far as getting notified is concerned. The alarm time and alarm itself could (and should) remain local to the iphone for this reason and does not really need to be synced back to google. "All tasks" feature is also free in GoTasks. I would prefer t use GeeTasks and suppor you since you were the first to implement syncing with google tasks and I paid for your app but I find GoTasks better at the moment. I think you will lose customers if you don't implement alarms and pop-ups locally.

Help! I have Geetasks (upgraded from lite, but not Pro). Gee tasks not syncing to Google Tasks or tasks list at Google calendar. After reading forum entries, just want to confirm that I need to make any changes to tasks Google Tasks on my Mac, then those changes will sync to my iPad? And that task changes made on my iPad will not sync to Google tasks/ calendar? Imunderstand this is an Apple developer limit and not something you've chosen not to provide!

I've spent quite a few hours this morning trying to find an iphone application which syncs with both google tasks and google calendar. I just want to open an app, see what I have on for the day and see what things I have to do. Only found calengoo which doesnt have the week overview format which I like. My fall back position is to use week calendar and geetasks, which is a bummer because it is two separate things to open each time. Anyhow…not geetasks problem but one thing which would make it better is to have an option in geetasks to have a date view, so that I can go to the date (ie default opens as "today") and see what things are due on that date. Of course, there would also have to be a "non dated" list of tasks that dont have a date.
Any chance that might happen anytime soon?
Or any other ideas?
Thanks for your help.
Kirrilie

I'm running OS 4.2.1 on the iPad. I downloaded GeeTasksLite today (12-2) to try it out. The app immediately closes when I open it. Is 4.2.1 supported?

Thanks,
Frank

Hi,

I'm just starting to use Geetasks and I like it a lot!
I have the non-pro version (should this be important in relation to my questions).

Two questions (I search for a user-guide, couldn't find it, searched the forums, couldn't find anything related) :

- How can I create descendant tasks?
- When I open the app, it automatically syncs with Google and new tasks (that I created in Google Calendar are downloaded). Simple and easy. But when the app is running in the background of the iPhone (or not running at all), it seems that new tasks are not pushed from Google Calendar to my iPhone? Is this possible to configure? Let's say I create one in Google, my iPhone has a connection, but since I don't open the app manually, there's no sync. Afterwards, I'm out of the house or office, no computer around, only iPhone, I check the tasks, but the newest ones weren't sync'ed yet.

Thanks,
kris

I'm trying out geetasks, and right now, I'm somewhat disappointed - when I create a new task, I see the calendar appear, and when I tap today, I see "Due today." But if, for example, I tap Thursday november 11, I see at the bottom "Due in 2 days Wed, Nov. 10, 2010" The same goes for any date in the future. Wed is the date that gets submitted, even though I tapped thursday.

Definitely something fishy going on.

Thanks for the help
