1. In addition / rather than changing font size by squishing finger motion, use a thin (not bold) font, and fully scroll the entire text of the task subject. For people that use the GTD methodology, you have lots of long titles. Squishing doesn't help
2. Add a button that "purges" completed tasks - i.e., deletes them locally and on the server

When I move a task to another category I get the following message in a popup window: "Moving tasks across lists is currently disabled due to changes made by Google. Please wait for the next update 1.43 due around September 5th to get this functionality back".

I'd attach a screenshot, but I can't figure out how to do that in this forum.

Is this a known bug? I haven't seen anything in the forums or app store reviews.

1. Open the details of a task

2. Tap "Belongs to List" and a new window comes up with the title of the task as the window title and I choose the list that I want to move the task to

3. A new window comes up with the name of the task as the title for the window, but this time it's the task list that is the content - that's the first strange part - I would have expected the name of the list to be the title - no biggie. Also, the back button is labelled with the title of the LIST that it happens to be displaying.

4. Tapping that back button does not change the list on screen, but just changes the title of the screen to the actual list title, and also changes the label in the back button to now read "Lists".

I noticed this a few times and just assumed I perhaps didn't actually tap the back button. Today, I moved about 6 tasks though, and noticed what was going on, only because I had to tap the back button about 6 times to actually get back to the "Lists" screen. Each time I tapped back, I had the same list as the window content, but the title would change to each of the task names that I had just moved. Everything moved OK, so it's really not a big problem, but I thought perhaps others could confirm this behavior.

Checking through forums I read about the swipe left option, so I'm going to give that a try and perhaps not look back :)

Can you remove the effect and just display the list immediately? Thanks!

Here is another thing in my wishlist (the previous one was being able to duplicate a list).

I don't know if this can be done with the iPhone dev kit, but I would like to be able to fold/unfold a subtasks list, i.e. the tasks that are demoted one level under another task in the tasks list.

I was used to do this in ThoughtMgr (ok, not really a tasks list but could be used as such) in PalmOS; I miss the app, even if GeeTasks is the iPhone app that comes closest…

I have a number of "template" tasks lists that I use to copy to make instances that I really use. Typically, check-list of things to take with me for a trip, or to check before flying an aircraft, …

I am desperately seeking a way of doing "copy/duplicate list", either in the Google native environment, or with a dedicated app (as Geetasks which I use).
(the simplest way I found to do this is use "email task" in the Google environment, then copy/paste the text to instert it in a newly created list, but it's painful and doesn't' preserve tasks indentations …)

If such a function could be added to Geetasks, I would be very grateful (and likely more people would be so, as this was required in some Google poll that I don't find any more).

Google released the new tasks API and promised to break the old API by the end of the month. This release of GeeTasks uses the new, official API.

Installation instructions:
Take this IPA file, drop it into iTunes, and sync iTunes with your iDevice. Unlike in the past, the provisining profile is no longer needed.

What's new:
Google promised to pull the plug on the old API on Aug 31st, so GeeTasks neews to be updated to use the new API.
All-in-all, the new API is a step back in functionality - it does not support "related mail", it does not allow checking for changes quickly (checking all lists individually is now required, which makes the app somewhat slower), and it does not allow moving tasks from one list to the next. To rectify the latter problem I made GeeTasks delete the task in the old list and create an identical copy in the new list when syncing, which works ok, except that you lose the creation date and the "related mail" link.
On the bright side, the new API is officially supported, so there are fewer quirks in it, and I will spend less time debugging the problems in the unofficial API.

However, my husband just complained to me that when ever he wants to sync his lists (he does it manually to save battery life), his screen says it is syncing and will freeze for several minutes. I thought he was exaggerating, but he is not. Even just entering the app, it takes about 30 seconds before he can do anything.

I am not sure what the problem is. He does not ever purge his lists because he wants records of what he has already done and keeps many, many lists. (He manages a group of doctors) I suggested to him that maybe having so much information could be the problem. He also has an iPhone 3GS (not a 4 like I do) so perhaps it is slower??

Either way, I was trying to help him figure out the problem. I did just run the latest updates to his iPhone, but it didn't help. Any suggestions?

(FYI: My husband is not techy at all, so I figure things out and then "help" him with our devices. I'm not that techy either, but much more so than him and I enjoy figuring stuff out—in case you wondered why I was the one asking the questions about HIS phone.)

Are there release notes for the various updates? I'm at 1.35 and have no issues. Don't like to update unless I know what I'm getting.

Now that this has been unleashed. What can we expect for Geetasks in the near future?

Will push synchronisation be finally possible instead of always having to open the app to sync or todo list? That would be one epic major improvement!

I've seen the threads, and the many requests to support multiple accounts. I understand this is already on the road map, but I needed something simpler…

Given that Google Tasks does not have an export/import mechanism, and since I have many tasks (100+) that I need to move between two different Google Apps accounts of mine (separate setups, not only different accounts), I was wondering if GeeTasksPro could help me out. I suppose the functionality is _almost_ there, it would be terrific if the iPhone app could just "hold" the tasks locally, then allow me to specify a different account, and then re-sync!

Is there something like that? Or do I really need to copy task by task manually? BTW, I just *love* this app, I keep installing it for all my customers…

Apart from that, I like the app a lot!

In GeeTasks, it takes 2 presses. One to go back to the list page and a second to go to the list. Would it be possible to put a button at the bottom of the tasks page that when you pressed it, it would take you to the next list? Even better yet, skipping empty lists?

For instance I have about six categories that are my "lists". I currently use a sheet of paper that I have six quadrants drawn on and I write my tasks for the week in them. Being able to see where each of the tasks fits at one glance would be very helpful.

Captio does this absolutely perfectly to a fixed email address, unfortunately Google Tasks doesn't seem to have the ability to create tasks directly from an incoming email.

I'm just starting to use Geetasks and I like it a lot!
I have the non-pro version (should this be important in relation to my questions).

Two questions (I search for a user-guide, couldn't find it, searched the forums, couldn't find anything related) :

- How can I create descendant tasks?
- When I open the app, it automatically syncs with Google and new tasks (that I created in Google Calendar are downloaded). Simple and easy. But when the app is running in the background of the iPhone (or not running at all), it seems that new tasks are not pushed from Google Calendar to my iPhone? Is this possible to configure? Let's say I create one in Google, my iPhone has a connection, but since I don't open the app manually, there's no sync. Afterwards, I'm out of the house or office, no computer around, only iPhone, I check the tasks, but the newest ones weren't sync'ed yet.
