I don't know if it can help you advertise GeeTasks, but you can "sync with your desktop".
I was looking for a GTasks windows gadget: there is none of them.
But this gadget (http://minibrowser.info/) allows you to put any webpage on your desk. Just resize the windows, point it to "http://mail.google.com/tasks/ig", log in and voila!

Yes, there are several one-page web gadgets, and if you direct them to http://mail.google.com/tasks/ig you will see a neat, small Task list outside Gmail. There are a few listed here: http://lifehacker.com/5182539/use-gmail-tasks-as-a-desktop-app
It doesn't work without network obviously, but if you're always connected it works great.
Your link do not mention "windows gadgets" but trick requiring firefox or chrome. But thanks anyway.
The AIR app that's linked in the article should work on Windows: http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/marketplace/index.cfm?event=marketplace.offering&offeringID=10723
Don't want to bother you with details, but by "windows gadget" if mean "real windows gadgets":

Peace :p
Ah, I see. I forgot about those.
