I am planning to create an iPad-optimized version of GeeTasks. Having collected feedback I came to conclusion about priorities, and so here is the roadmap of the future versions:
- Version 1. Same as old GeeTasks, but it has to look good at native resolution. It should not be as visually offensive as it is now.
- Version 2. Plus, it has to make good use of the extra real estate - more tasks on screen at once, both lists and tasks, or tasks and task details. Something to resemble the canvas view. When one pays extra money for iPad one expects to get extra value out of it.
- Version 3. Extra controls for heave-duty task manipulation. Side-by-side display of lists, calendar view, search/filtering, labels etc. Basically a multitaskers dream power tool to be used in lieu of a to classical computer.
Pricing. There will likely be no free upgrade from current versions of GeeTasks to GeeTasks HD. I might put some limited iPad support in GeeTasksPro, but please do not purchase it assuming the support is forthcoming. For that matter, please do not purchase any product based on promised future features - it is likely to upset you in the end and it leads to unhealthy "promises" competition among developers.
Timing. I plan to start working on it in about a month from now, and it will be about a month until the Beta. Expect a late September release.
